“Sainthood lies in the habit of referring the smallest actions to God.” C.S.Lewis

It would seem, humanly speaking, that we would be capable of handling all of the little things in life and leave the big things for God to handle. Like “leave the driving to us.”  No, God is interest in the little things in our lives. I am glad.

“Give me the love that leads the way, the faith that nothing can dismay, the hope no disappointment tire, the passion that will burn like fire, let me not sink to be a clod, make me thy fuel, flame of God.” Amy Carmichael

I really like this quote. Take a few moments and let it sink into you being.

“Christians don’t tell lies they just go to church and sing them.” A.W.Tozer

I guess the idea behind this quote is the fact do we really believe and do we really live what we are singing about in our songs. I know there are times when I am singing a song and at the same time saying you hypocrite you aren’t practicing what you are singing. Maybe God will forgive us because of our ignorance. lol

“Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.” Prov. 14:10

This verse from proverbs is so true. It gets sort of lonely at times because only you know what is going on in your heart. You may share that information with someone, however, they still do not know. Only you know.

“Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be.” Thomas a Kempis

We would be wise if we would not try to play the Holy Spirit in  the lives of other people. It has taken me a long time to realize I have a most difficult time keeping myself straight without trying to straighten out others.

“He who angers you conquers you” Elizabeth Kenny

Look at this statement real close. The only way to eliminate this control over you by another person is to forgive that person and release them to God and let Him deal in what ever way He Chooses.

“To choose rationally, one must choose morally.” David Gauthier

Life is filled with choices and that can be brutal. Sometimes we make the right choice and sometimes we make the wrong choice. You can imagine what it is like for teenagers making choices. I can remember my teenage years when I made a lot of very bad choices. I am glad I learned from them and was able to make a correction in the direction of my life.

“Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested.” Sir Francise Bacon

There have been a few books I have read down through the years that have had a lasting impact upon my life. They were the ones where I took the time and chewed on the content of the authors writing and digested the information which in turn transformed my life. Of course the Bible is such a book, however, I have read a few  books written by individuals that have  had that kind of impact on my life.

“A home with out books is like a room without windows. ” Henry Ward Beecher

A room without windows is a very dark place to live. If you don’t read books your life is not going to have the light within like it would if you read a lot of books. You never get too old to read a book. It will keep your mind sharp and filled with light.

People will be no better than the books they read.” Bishop Potter

You can tell a book by its cover and I guess you can tell what kind of books we read by our cover. You will become what you read. Those with children should require them to read books, good books, lots of books.
